I say we have Kira "Resurrected" from the ashes, using the unnamed shinigami at the end of the movie or w/e it is as the antagonist instead of ryuk. Maybe this time he started off the same as Light, but he killed differently than light. Maybe biological warfare and maybe he might be an assassin or in the employ of some agency or something :)

Hmmm by the way, when I said Kira gets resurrected, I meant the alias. But, why would someone so smart like L use a Death Note or something... it just doesn't fit to me. Would make more sense for my character to be Kira due to his history xD

well here is something I'm up for; my character for this rp, which is in the other thread, but no matter, was labeled as anti-kira, but really that wasn't true.

It's more like he was fascinated by Kira, and because of his own morbid sense of the world, he wanted to stake his life in a gamble against Kira.

Truthfully he doesn't care one way or another about stopping Kira, he is just an artist who want's to test himself I guess you could say.

The cold thing about him though is that the more damage Kira does, the more he becomes enthralled with the game.

Now I'm not opposed to the idea of a resurrection of the Kira identity; it's good,
but I do have one thing you may want to consider before doing it.

The name Kira was chosen by the creators for a very specific reason; Kira is a play on words. Kira (which in and of itself has a meaning) is not really a mispronunciation of "Akira", but is more like a play on the meaning of Akira, which means "Light". Now the play on words is that Kira, who was really Light Yagumi, connects the name specifically.

Light, who's name in kanji had another meaning but was pronounced as light, chose Kira because it too has another meaning, but as I stated with akira, refers to light.

The reason Light chose Kira is because he put it out right in everyone's face exactly who Kira was, but since Kira actually refers to nice clothes, only a true genius would have been sly enough to catch it. It would be like me calling myself "ageku" which means "in the end", whereas my name Haji actually means "Ending"

So basically to use something like Kira in a true sense, only teh character of light would be right for it. However, if you took someone who was aware of this fact and chose Kira because they worshiped light, it would be pretty cool. because then you could play back to the past a bit, without having to compromise a new story.

I understand that it is a play on words, but since we are not all Japanese or experts in it, I had to think of something :] That and we are low on people who actually are posting about getting into this. So far we have Sera (hopefully), Haji, and I. This is definitely not enough unless each of us takes 3-4 characters, which I personally have no problem with. Haji, I like your idea, but a cult-like follower of light would be prone to mistakes. He would be sloppy. He would think that, since Kira did it so long, anyone with a Death Note is invincible. I have an idea that wouldn't work, but would be cool, but based on speculation.

What if Light becomes a Shinigami, like in the end of a certain anime special thing, and instead of someone else being a new Kira, we have to deal with Light's Shinigami performing things like making people write in the first black notebook they find that says Death Note, and then taking his book back once they die from writing so many names.
(For Example. "Hajime Yukimura. Dead at 12:00, Tokyo Time, after writing 20 Names in the first black notebook he found in front of him labeled Death Note. Died by Heart Attack from writing his own name in the Death Note") This is an example, so Haji please don't really die by Suicidal Death-Note-age.. But it is an idea that Light, as a Shinigami, could and, most likely, would use. This is only one option, that would not work well IMO. I like Haji's Idea.
