the removal of the witches to make room for the expanding Gotei, the 1st
division, the few survivors left after the great extermination settled
here.

But it would last only a fleeting moment, as the final
stroke of the campaign to remove a potential threat hit, the remaining
witches and all those who sheltered them were cut down.. only 3
survivors lived from that day:
