    Refugee Camp (Tokyo Attack)



    Ruru was surprised to see Claire's set up that she wondered how one person could've done something even shinigami's had to do in numbers. Temporary houses were built for the survivors at the sides of Mt. Kumotori. This high up from the catastrophe's below almost made it feel like everything was fine down below, but it wasn't.

    10 percent of Tokyo's population remain, 2 percent safe on high grounds, 5 percent injured, the 3 percent safe somewhere in the city, or dying like many.

    Claire even took the initiative to build a command center of some sort, this was where Ruru and the others went. There was enough room for everyone, even Ruru was given one.

    Immediately, Ruru equipped her gigai to communicate with the humans better. She stepped out of the room wondering how they were doing now, she promised to tell them everything, she wanted to see through it that she does, before looking for Sanba again.

    Ruru walked straight into common room and sat on a vacant seat waiting for everyone to do the same for her to start.

    As the camp came into view, Noctis was speechless. He knew this wasn't here before. Had Claire and Bucky created this by themselves? If so, where did they find the time to do this? Baffled was the least that Noctis was. Surprised, terrified. Those were the right words for it. What were ?these people? How were they so powerful.

    ''Claire, I want you to train me," Noct said as he took a seat next to her. ''I want you to make me stronger than I already am.... I need to protect those who are close to me. I need to be ready for when that man returns...." Noctis kept the same serious expression he had on his face since he had met her.

    He felt a grand need to be faster and stronger. He'd go through whatever training he needed.... Even if he meant he'd have to be turned into some sort of monster. He wanted to protect people and he vowed to himself that he would no matter the cost.

    Claire was already sitting next Ruru as Noctis sat next to her, she turned to him, her expression studying his, tempted by the idea but not quite as much as she'd hope for. "I don't think that man will return to finish off the witnesses though." Claire started, sipping tea from a wooden cup. "I will train you though, but i can't make sure you'll survive it." she continued, she knew that even with her warning, he wouldn't change his mind-set, she just had to show him that what he's asking for is a suicide mission.

    Ruru just sat there waiting for the questions to come, she knew that they would ask her eventually.

    Noctis nodded. ''I think I'll surprise you, Claire.... Don't underestimate me based on the fact that I'm a mere human. I want to learn from you. You're probably the strongest person in this room right now. I don't know why, but I can feel your power. It's a crushing feeling. It'd be an honor to learn from you and your years of experience in combat." Noctis smiled at her. He was happy that she had said yes to his request. Now he just wanted to get through with the questions and to advance to the training. He couldn't wait to train with her. He would become much stronger. He could feel it.

    The ambiance wasn't very joyful. It was gloomy and unhappy. Everyone had a serious expression on their face. The night was a scary one, no doubt.

    ''So, who exactly was that man over there? His power was so powerful... I felt like my bones were going to be crushed just by his mere presence," Noct said with earnest curiosity painted on his soot-covered face.

    Claire had a smile carved on her perfect little face, turning to Noctis and wanting to reply to his question, but she held her tongue this time giving Ruru the opportunity to explain things.

    "Do I seem more human to you now?" Ruru asked before explaining anything to Noctis, the gigai shouldve hidden her spiritual pressure, and made the surge similar to a humans, any human could see her easily now, but it wouldnt make a difference to them, she just wanted to know if they understood what she was.

    "That man and I, were no longer of the living."     She started.

    "This may sound crazy to anyone, but we've died some time ago, and maybe time made us lose or minds..." It took her a long pause before continuing again. Sanba was once a sane Shinigami much like her, but she's never been this serious her entire life as one.

    "But were not regular souls, we have unique abilities."     Ruru placed her zanpakuto on the table and continued. "This katana may look old and rusty, but it's no normal one, in the hands of a shinigami, it's a lethal weapon."

    It was hard to explain to a human how this and that works without going through everything, or simply just showing them to ease them from all the thinking, but she couldnt do that without the dire need to.

    "Claire is something else entirely, more like the worst version of our selves."     Ruru explained and Claire could only smirk from her sit, it was the truth anyway. "Our kind are the ones who protect souls... Claire's kind on the other hand... Devours them."

    ''The mass of the pressure has certainly gone down, but feeling it is still easy. It is clear that you have masked it, however." Noctis nodded as he scratched his rather confused head. ''Bucky, if Claire does what you try to defeat, then why do you two appear to be friends? You two don't seem very hostile towards each other."

    Noctis smiled at the rest of her explanation. ''I understand what you are saying, Bucky. It sounds to me like you guys play the role of Death," Noct said with a smirk. It all sounded very confusing at first, but it began to come together as he was able to connect the pieces. Despite Noctis realizing how dangerous they were, he didn't feel like his life was at danger. He felt as if he was safe with them. He didn't know if he should be on his guard or not, but he had let it down this entire time. Were they friends or enemies?

    "Were not friends." Claire answered this time, her voice cute and musical. "If you haven't noticed, this world is falling apart. I'm here to stop that from happening, but we don't have the same motivation." Claire crushed one of her cards and a small stick figure fell out from the puff of small smoke the crushing had made. The stick figure then danced around the table like a toy. "Human souls no longer quench my thirst, nor ease my hunger for more power, I eat my own kind now." she explained while playing with the figure with her left pinky. "My kind doesn't care much about this world, but I have learned to love this place. And Sanba..." She paused for a moment then continued. "Is the cause of all this... I'm here to kill him, even if it means having to protect humans and work with shinigami for the time being."

    Claire then crawled off from her seat leaning towards Noctis then placed her head on his chest. "Tell me, do you sense anything different from me when i go near you like this?" She listened to his heart beat. "Nothing right?" she asked, then returned to her seat. "I dont look like a monster either do I?" she flexed her arms and wiggled her fingers. "I can control my self, and with that control came my shinigami like appearance, but theirs a twist." She removed her eye patch showing the hollow hole visible on her right eye. "We have a hollow hole, making us incomplete, and a mask remnant that's a permanent fixture on our body."

    Noctis was shocked when she put her head on his chest. He held an expressionless look on his face when she had did it. He was surprised, scared, and even a little flustered. "N-No.... I don't," Noct said with worry. The whole thing had spooked him a bit. It sounded like something out of a horror film. Was this actually happening to him?

    ''Uh-huh..... What made you have a change of heart about my world, Claire? Did you suddenly grow to have compassion for the human race or could we simply no longer fill your thirst?" Noct asked with genuine curiosity. He wanted to know this. He wasn't just acting to be rude.

    A weary Ushiwaka wandered into the refuge camp, tired from his travels towards Tokyo, carrying his sleeping sister, Fuu, on his back. News of the devastation had traveled to Waka's home, Sasebo, intriguing the Fullbringer and causing him to go to the city that was once grand. His bluish steel eyes held deep sorrow; a lot of people who did not deserve to die did so. And what's worse, the one's left alive more likely than not suffered the loss of a loved one. He made his way to one of the house like shelters, mingled speech of the refugees reached Waka's ears; the damage was far worse than he had imagined, and he lost all hope of some of his buddies still being alive.The thought provoked tears into Waka's eyes, and a few streamed down his cheeks silently. He reached a shelter and sat down near a curious group of people. Noting a strange woman with her head against an equally strange man's chest, he set a still sleeping Fuu down on a chair next to him. He wiped the tears out of his eyes as he said aloud, " What the Hell is going on here? "

    Noctis pulled his view up to see the strange looking man. ''Hell.... Hell is exactly what is going on. You wanna go into specifics? Pull out a chair and sit down. I'm sure Claire and Ms. Bucky here will be more than happy to answer your questions. But first, how about you answer one of mine. What are you?"

    He looked human but he couldn't be sure. Was he in this ''gigai" form that the girls were talking about before? Was he a Fullbring? Was he human? Was he something else entirely? Noctis was concerned. The last thing that they needed was more enemies.
